Mes Belles Epoques is a cultural project of Russian photographer Yury Antonov.

   Yury started to photograph historical images several years ago.

   His favorite time is period from end of XIX to beginning of First World War also called Belle Epoque. A period of hopes of peace, a period when people from different countries got a chance to stay closer thanks to engines and wings.

   "I noticed that people from different countries  understand the same images absolutely different when I proposed the same image of actress Silvana Mangano from the movie "Death in Venice" to several models from Tallinn, Rome and Budapest. Yep, bonnets with plumage, pearls were practically the same but images that they created were absolutely different. Based on traditions, culture of their countries and of course personality of the models, these images inspired me to study heritage of Belle Epoque around the world and create a series of photos ", Yury says.
